You are invited to an evening of Timeless Western Classics and Love Songs around the World Concert on Saturday October 6, 2018 at 7:30pm at the Trianon Theatre.
The program features Thu Hà, Hoàng Lan, Bảo Châu, Phạm Hà and guest conductor Nguyễn Khánh Hồng. Highlights include Vivaldi's L’estro armonico RV567, excerpts from Mozart’s Serenata notturna K239, Bizet’s Carmen and Grieg’s Peer Gynt; top hits of the ’70 Speak Softly, Love and of the ’80 Only Love; Gardel’s beloved tango Sus ojos se serraron; Vietnamese enchanting melodies by Phạm Duy, Cung Tiến, Lam Phương, Từ Công Phụng, Tuấn Khanh...
Ticket prices are $30 (general) and $60 (sponsor/VIP) will be available on 9/10/2018 at Huong Giang Music & DVDs, Lion Plaza, 1816 Tully Road, Suite 170, San Jose, California or at the door one hour prior to the concert time. Formed in the Fall of 1996, Saigon Chamber Ensemble (SCE) consists of Western classical musicians of Vietnamese heritage, who are now living around the Bay Area. Their first concert took place in December 1996 at Alum Rock Covenant Church in San Jose. Although SCE’s primary focus is instrumental music, it also welcomes opportunities to present Western and Vietnamese vocal music with guest artists such as Thái Hiền, Bích Liên, Thu Hà, Nguyễn Thành Vân, Nguyễn Hồng Quang, Bích-Vân, Tú-Lan, Annie Nguyễn, Bảo-Châu, Phạm Hà, and Đình Bảo.
