In celebration of our fifteenth year of presenting the Spring Concert Series we once again would like to invite you to the beautiful Le Petit Trianon Theatre where we will present our 2011 Spring Concert on Saturday, April 16th, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.
Formed in 1996 by Vietnamese classically trained musicians in the Bay Area, Saigon Chamber Ensemble has untiringly devoted its passion for the musical arts by offering performances of diversified music programs from classical, Western pop/light jazz to Vietnamese traditional and pop songs. This year we are delighted to present our 15th Anniversary Spring Concert with a very special and spectacular program.
Highlights of the program include classical masterworks Corelli’s Concerto Grosso Op.6 No.1, Vivaldi’s Concerto Op.3 No.10, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.13, Rossini’s Barber of Seville, Halvorsen’s Passacaglia, Jenkins’ Palladio; French all-time favorites Piaf’s La Vie En Rose, Ferrari’s Domino, Aznavour’s She (Tous les visages de l’amour); Vietnamese great tunes Tuan Khanh’s Noi Niem, Lam Phuong’s Cho Em Quen Tuoi Ngoc, Cung Tien’s Nguyet Cam, Pham Dinh Chuong’s Muoi Thuong. Joining us this year will be returning guest conductor Nguyen Khanh Hong, vocalists Thu Ha (Dr. Nguyet Mehlert), Annie Nguyen, and first time appearances of Pham Ha and Nguyen Bao Chau. With two charming MCs, Ms. Hoang-Lan Pham and Dr. Leanna Linh-Chi Nguyen hosting the program, SCE promises to deliver one enchanted evening filled with beautiful music and memories.
